As part of an expansion of the Hillman Hall of Mineral and Gems, the creation of the Wertz Gallery focus is rare gems, the crystals they come from, and extraordinary jewelry comprised of these gems. These pieces will come from the museum's collection, many of which have never been on permanent display, loans from private individuals, gemstone vendors, and traveling exhibits from other museum collections.
